Zeekr 007 Review
Zeekr 007 is from the luxury group Geely. Although it’s a relatively new brand in the market, its models have had great success in China and are now expanding to global markets.
007, which pretty much echoes the James Bond moniker, though not officially tied, brings that same air of sharp style and quiet confidence. From its bold exterior to its sleek, tech-forward interior, everything feels distinctly premium. But can it win over users with looks alone, or does it have the performance and substance to back it up?
Let’s find out through this blog. It reviews Zeekr 007, covering its global variant, on-road performance, efficiency, and how it stacks against other competitors in the market.
Exterior and Interior
Zeekr’s 007 is said to be a Chinese version of the Tesla Model 3. But in terms of dimensions, the Zeekr 7 is closer to the BMW i3 than the Tesla Model 3. It’s slightly larger (about 1.9 m wide) and positioned as a more luxurious sedan. Rather than being sleek, it’s more s more on a muscular side.
At first look, the thing that might grab your attention is Zeekr’s Stargate, 1,711 individually controllable LEDs, which span nearly the entire width of the nose. When lit, sit animates in custom patterns or messages. You could configure it to display your name, too!
There are no visible door handles - they open by clicking a button on the car’s B-pillar. And if you switch back, you’ll see a rear light bar has a wave-patterned panel underneath. It creates a rippling light effect at night, like reflections on water. That’s subtle but beautiful.
Inside, you’ll notice some shared elements from other Zeekr models (Nappa leather seats, adjustable front & rear seats, large instrument displays), which isn’t a bad thing. Zeekr generally does great interiors.
The instrument display (15.05-inch) is similar to the Zeekr 001. And a 35.5-inch heads-up display, slightly larger than the one seen in Zeekr. X The steering wheel, door panels, and window switches feel familiar, likely shared with the Zeekr X. The infotainment system is powered by the Qualcomm 8295, the same chip found in the latest Mercedes E-Class. It’s lightning-fast with no frame drops.
One design quirk is the steeply sloped A-pillar, which brings the sun visor quite close to your head. It’s unusual at first, especially when you flip it to the side. But you get used to it quickly. Since the sunroof is smart and tinted, you don’t feel much heat from the Sun.
One drawback I noticed is that the rear seats aren’t as comfortable. But the trunk is pretty spacious with a storage capacity of up to 462 liters.
Available Trims, Colors, and Accessories
In China, the Zeekr 007 comes in 4 trims priced between ¥209,900 to ¥299,900: two rear-wheel drive (RWD) and two all-wheel drive (AWD) variants, each with a performance and long-range model. Globally, only AWD performance model is available.
In the global variant (~$41,000), you get to see 7 exterior color options: Green, Purple, Blue, Grey, White, Black, and Silver. For the interior, the choices are Blue & White and Black & Grey.
If you want to get a customized variant and features, you’ll have to import the Chinese model. Globally, just one trim is available.
Engine and Performance
The global Zeekr trim (Performance Version in Chinese) comes with a dual-motor, AWD setup that provides a maximum power of up to 475 kW. Geely claims that it can go from 0 to 100 kph in 2.84 seconds. But that doesn’t account for the start time, and it was a little slower than that in the real test,
The Zeekr 7 feels closer to a Tesla Model 3 in terms of agility and steering response than to the i3. The suspension feels planted and composed. Even during big bumps or vertical drops, the car lands smoothly without that floaty sensation. The twin-motor (global) version comes with adaptive dampers, which shine in sports mode.
Mileage and Fuel Efficiency
Zeekr 007 features a 100 kWh battery pack in its performance version. That’s much larger than what we see in Tesla, so it’s range. Zeekr claims that a car can provide 870 km (CLTC). This value may be close enough for a single motor, long-range variant, but for dual motor setup, we anticipate it to be around 660 km.
Since it’s built on Geely Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA), it supports high-voltage (800V) charging capabilities. It claims to charge from 10 to 80% in about 15 minutes. That’s subject to the availability of chargers in your locality.
Competitors and Market Comparison
In the luxury sedan category, we have a lot of options that can tough competition for 007 in any market, they’re all offered collectively. Tesla Model 3 is one of the biggest rivals. Then, you can consider BYD Seal, NIO ET5, and Polestar 2.
| Price(USD) | Max Power (hp) | 0–100 km/h (seconds) | Battery Size(kWh) | Range (CLTC)(km) | |
